I’m thrilled to be attending the 2025 Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival at MASS MoCA as a composer fellow this coming July! After my residency at Willapa Bay I’ll be heading to Massachusetts for three weeks along with seven other composers and a cohort of performers from around the US and beyond.
I’ll be working on a new chamber piece over the next couple of months which will be premiered at the Bang on a Can LOUD Weekend, 31 July – August 2. The composition faculty at the festival are the founders of Bang on a Can, David Lang, Julia Wolfe and Michael Gordon. It’s going to be a huge privilege to meet and work with them – I’m a huge admirer of their music and all of their work with Bang on a Can.
I’m waiting to hear back on a couple of funding applications to support my trip to the US so fingers crossed. Looking forward to travelling to some new places and catching up with friends while I’m over there! More updates to come :)
