With a passion for all things creative Jessie has developed a versatile musical skill set and works in live music, arranging, coaching, composition, and more.
Recent highlights include being contracted by P&O Australia as a piano bar performer on the Pacific Aria and having her collaborative musical theatre project Take Back The Universe selected for a NZ Music Theatre Company Showcase at the Civic Theatre in Auckland. In 2018 Jessie was selected as a finalist in the NZSO Todd Corporation Young Composer Awards and travelled to Wellington where her orchestral piece the wilds was recorded and performed by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
As a long-time barbershop singer, Jessie makes learning tracks and vocal arrangements for barbershop and a cappella groups, and volunteers as a national coordinator for the secondary school barbershop program Young Singers in Harmony (YSIH). She travels around the country to judge youth competitions, runs workshops and coaching sessions with her barbershop quartet ZEAL and leads the YSIH Committee in organising their annual National Convention.
Jessie can be found gigging regularly with her duo AVA & LEOV throughout the Auckland region. She also works with young people as a piano and voice coach and composition/songwriting tutor, both privately and in schools.
Jessie graduated from the University of Auckland with First Class Honours in Music Composition and is working towards further postgraduate study.
