I’m over the moon to share that my work convergency, for piano trio, has been programmed for the 2026 ISCM World New Music Days Festival in Romania!
I was fortunate to be one of six composers with works put forward to the Romanian committee by the Australian Music Centre earlier this year. I received the wonderful news that my work has been selected to represent Australia at the festival, and to be performed as one of 70 works by composers from around the world! I’m so excited that convergency will receive its European premiere at this event which will be a beautiful collision of culture, people and place.
Some info on the festival: Each year the ISCM World New Music Days Festival is organised by a different host and programmes new music from around the world from submissions by its member organisations. The 2026 festival is taking place in Bucharest, Romania from May 23-31 and is titled “Columna Infinita” after the famous sculpture by 20th-century Romanian art icon Constantin Brâncuși. The selected pieces reflect the sculpture’s sense of expansiveness, gesturing towards the infinite sky above.
